Short version: connecting your domain to Roomvu is free, it won't touch your email, your pages keep clean URLs, and your old site stays exactly as it is until you point the domain over. Here's each question in full.
Will my page URLs change?
No — they get better. Once your domain is connected, your pages live under your own name instead of a roomvu.com link. So a page that was roomvu.com/…/about becomes www.yourname.com/about. Your sections (about, blog, listings, contact) keep their clean paths under your domain.
Will my email break?
No. Roomvu hosts your website, not your email. Connecting your domain only changes two records — the A record and the www CNAME. Your email runs on separate MX and TXT records, and you leave those untouched. As long as you don't edit or delete your MX/TXT records, your inbox keeps working exactly as before.
What does it cost?
A connected website is included in your Roomvu plan at no extra charge — there's no separate fee to connect your domain. The only thing you pay for is the domain name itself, and that's paid to your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), not to Roomvu — typically around $10–$20 a year. If you don't own a domain yet, see How to Buy a Domain Under Your Own Name.
What happens to my old site — keep it or replace it?
That's your call, and nothing happens automatically. Your domain can only point to one website at a time. When you point it at Roomvu, visitors to your domain see your Roomvu site instead of the old one. Your old site isn't deleted — it just stops being what your domain shows. If you'd rather keep the old site live, you can point a subdomain (like go.yourname.com) at Roomvu instead — email us and we'll help you set that up.
I have a WordPress / other site already — is Roomvu compatible?
Yes. You don't need to be "WordPress compatible" — you're simply pointing your domain at your Roomvu site instead of your old one, which works with a domain from any provider. Roomvu also offers a WordPress plugin if you want to embed Roomvu content into an existing WordPress site rather than replace it. So both paths work: point the domain fully at Roomvu, or keep WordPress and embed Roomvu content. If you're not sure which fits you, email us and we'll walk you through it.
