Why Wasn’t My Content Shared on X (Twitter)?

X auto-posting works differently from other platforms: only certain content types are shared, and posting is limited to twice per week. Here’s how it works.

If you’ve connected your X (formerly Twitter) account to roomvu and noticed that some of your content isn’t appearing there, even though it posts fine to your other platforms, your account is almost certainly working as intended. Posting to X is intentionally limited in two ways: by content type and by frequency.

Limit 1: Not All Content Types Are Shared to X

roomvu intentionally does not share certain content types to X. The following are excluded from X auto-posting by design:

  • Videos

  • Listing videos

  • Testimonials

  • Landing-page posts

This means content like your news posts is what gets shared to X, while your video content continues posting to your other connected platforms as usual. So if you see a video on your calendar that went to Instagram and Facebook but not X, that’s expected behavior, not a failure.

Limit 2: A Maximum of 2 Posts Per Week on X

In addition to the content-type rule, roomvu limits X posting to 2 posts per calendar week. Once two eligible posts have been shared to X in a given week, any further eligible posts that week will not go to X, and posting resumes the following week.

This limit exists because X’s audience behavior and platform norms differ from other networks, and over-posting there can hurt rather than help your presence.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Say you connect your X account mid-week. From that point on:

  1. The next eligible post on your calendar (for example, a news post) is shared to X

  2. Video-type posts on your calendar that week are skipped for X, by design

  3. Once 2 eligible posts have gone out in the same calendar week, further posts wait until the next week

So an X feed that shows fewer posts than your other platforms is the system working correctly, not a connection problem.

When to Actually Be Concerned

Reach out to us if:

  • No content has appeared on your X account at all, several days after connecting, including eligible content types

  • Your X integration shows as disconnected or asks you to reconnect repeatedly

Otherwise, fewer posts on X compared to Instagram or Facebook is expected.
