Why We Recommend Turning Off Intro Branding on Your Videos

How removing the branded intro from your organic content can stop viewers from skipping and start getting you real engagement.

roomvu recently introduced branding controls that let you decide exactly where your brand appears in your videos. While branding is a powerful tool for awareness, there's an important distinction worth understanding: not all branding placements work the same way on social media.

The Problem with Intro Branding on Organic Content

When a viewer scrolls through their feed and sees a video that opens with a logo animation or branded intro, their brain does something automatic: it reads it as an ad. That instinct kicks in before they've heard a single word, and in most cases, they scroll right past it.

This is a real problem for organic content. The videos roomvu posts on your behalf are not ads. They're educational, market-focused, and designed to build trust with your audience over time. But if the first second looks like a commercial, you've already lost most of your viewers.

What We Recommend

Turn off your intro branding. Keep your outro.

Your outro branding still ensures your name, face, and contact information appear at the end of every video. If a viewer watches through to the end (which engaged viewers do), they'll know exactly who made it and how to reach you.

This keeps your content feeling organic, educational, and watchable without removing your brand from the equation entirely.

If you've recorded a personal video intro through roomvu, that's an even better replacement for the branded opener. Your face and your voice at the start of a video is far more compelling than a logo, and it doesn't trigger the "skip this ad" reflex.

How to Turn Off Intro Branding

  1. From your main roomvu dashboard, click the gear icon in the top navigation

  2. Select Branding Theme from the left menu

  3. Toggle off intro branding for regular videos, editable videos, or both

  4. Optionally, you can also disable Bottom Branding (the lower-third overlay showing your name, photo, and contact info during the video)

Changes apply to content going forward.

A Note on Bottom Branding

The bottom branding overlay is the small bar that appears during your video showing your name, photo, and contact details. Like the intro, this can also read as promotional to viewers and may reduce watch time. Turning it off, combined with disabling the intro, creates a cleaner viewing experience that keeps the focus on the content itself.

The Bigger Picture

Social media was built for connection, not sales pitches. The agents who build the strongest audiences online are the ones who lead with value and let their expertise do the selling. Your content does that work for you. Your branding is most effective when it shows up at the right moment, not the first one.

Adjust your settings, let the content lead, and watch your engagement improve.
