Why Didn't My AI Avatar Use the Script I Edited?

Explains why editing a script on a listing or editable video does not change what the AI Avatar says. The script field in that section is a teleprompter for personal intro and face message recordings only.

If you edited a script on your listing video or editable video and expected your AI Avatar to say something different, this article will clear up what happened and why.

There are several different script-related features on roomvu that look similar but serve completely different purposes. Understanding the difference will save you a lot of confusion.

The three types of video intro options on roomvu

When you open a listing video or editable video, you are given two options for adding a personal touch to it:

  1. Add an AI Avatar - An animated digital version of you, powered by your cloned voice, generated automatically by the AI engine.

  2. Record a personal intro or add a face message - A real video of you recorded through your camera, where you speak directly to your audience.

These are two completely separate features, and each one handles scripts very differently.

How scripts work for each option

AI Avatars

The script for your AI Avatar is generated automatically by roomvu's AI engine based on the content of the video. This script is not editable. You cannot change what your AI Avatar says by editing any script field on the platform. The AI determines the narration and it is set automatically.

Personal intro and face message videos

When you choose to record a personal intro or face message, there is a script field available. This script is used exclusively as a teleprompter, something for you to read from while recording yourself on camera. You can edit this script freely and whatever you write will appear on screen as a prompt when you record. However, this script has absolutely no effect on AI Avatars.

Why does the script field appear when using AI Avatars?

This is where the confusion comes from. When you are in the listing video or editable video section, the script field is visible regardless of which option you choose. Because AI Avatars and personal intro videos share the same interface, users naturally assume that editing the script will affect what the AI Avatar says. It does not. The script field in this context is only relevant when you choose to record a personal intro or face message. When an AI Avatar is being used, the script field is simply a teleprompter tool that has no connection to the AI Avatar's narration.

What about AI Actors?

AI Actors are a separate feature where you can generate a short AI-generated video using a custom script of up to 140 characters. This script does directly control what the AI Actor says since the AI generates the video based on your input. This is different from AI Avatars, which are personalized to you and use an automatically generated script.

What if I want to change what my AI Avatar says?

At this time, the AI Avatar script is generated automatically and cannot be manually overridden. If you would like more control over the narration on your video, consider using the personal intro or face message option instead, where you can write your own script and record yourself saying exactly what you want.
