Why Isn’t My MLS Listing Updating on roomvu?

This article explains the difference between live MLS ID imports and non-live Zillow or Realtor imports, clarifies why some listings do not update automatically, and outlines how to re-import and regenerate listing content.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Roomvu allows you to import your listings and automatically generate marketing content such as listing videos and immersive tours.

However, not all imports behave the same way.

Only direct MLS ID imports are live and can reflect updates automatically.
All other import methods, including Zillow, Realtor, and other third-party sources, are not live feeds.

This guide explains the difference and what you need to do if your listing details are not updating.

Live vs Non-Live Listing Imports

1. Direct MLS ID Import (Live)

If you import your listing using the MLS ID directly inside Roomvu, the listing can stay synced with MLS updates.

This means:

  • Price changes may update

  • Status updates may reflect

  • Listing detail changes may sync

Direct MLS ID imports are the only method that supports live syncing.

2. Zillow, Realtor, and Other Imports (Not Live)

If you import your listing from:

  • Zillow

  • Realtor

  • Other third-party platforms

These imports are static snapshots.

Roomvu captures the listing details at the time of import and generates content based on that version. It does not continuously sync with those platforms.

If you later change:

  • The price

  • The description

  • The photos

  • The property details

Those updates will not automatically reflect in Roomvu.

This is expected behaviour and not a system error.

How to Update Your Listing on Roomvu

If your listing was imported from Zillow, Realtor, or another non-MLS-ID method and you made updates, you will need to:

Step 1: Delete the Existing Listing

Go to your listings section and remove the outdated listing.

Step 2: Import the Listing Again

Re-import the listing from MLS so the system captures the updated information.

Step 3: Regenerate Content

After re-importing, the listing video will be regenerated. You will also need to manually regenerate Immersive tours.

These assets are created based on the imported listing data, so they must be rebuilt after updates.

Important to Remember

  1. Only direct MLS ID imports are live

  2. Zillow and Realtor imports are not live

  3. Non-live listings require deletion and re-import to update

  4. Listing videos and immersive tours must be regenerated after re-import

When Should You Re-Import?

You should re-import your listing if:

  • The price changes

  • Major details are updated

  • New photos are added

  • Property status changes

Keeping your content aligned with your MLS data ensures your marketing stays accurate and professional.
