Some users contact us after hearing a voice-over in their video that doesn’t sound like them, especially if they have already cloned their voice. In most cases, this is not a bug.
Roomvu uses two different types of voice-overs across videos:
System Voice-Overs
Cloned Voice Voice-Overs
This guide explains the difference and why you may hear a voice that is not your own.
Two Types of Voice-Overs in Roomvu
1. System Voice-Overs
Some Roomvu videos come with default system voice-overs.
Important to know:
These use a variety of professional AI voices
The voices rotate intentionally for variety
They are not connected to your account or your cloned voice
They appear in certain pre-designed videos
Even if you have cloned your voice, some videos in your library may still use system voices by design.
This is normal behaviour.
2. Cloned Voice Voice-Overs
When you clone your voice, Roomvu can use your AI Voice Clone in supported video types.
Currently, cloned voices are only applied to:
Listing Videos
Editable Videos
If a voice-over appears in any other type of video, it is a system voice-over, and it will naturally sound different from your voice.
Your cloned voice:
Is generated from your own voice sample
Sounds like you
Is applied only to supported video types
Not all videos automatically use your cloned voice.
Why You’re Hearing a Voice That Isn’t Yours
If a video voice-over does not sound like you, it is usually because:
The video is using a system voice
That video type does not support cloned voice
This does not mean your voice clone failed or that the system has a bug.
Important Clarification
This article explains the difference between system voices and cloned voices.
If your cloned voice itself does not sound accurate, that is a separate issue covered in another help article about improving voice clone quality.
Summary
Roomvu uses both system voice-overs and cloned voice voice-overs
Cloned voices are currently applied only to Listing Videos and Editable Videos
Other videos use rotating system AI voices.
If you’re unsure whether a specific video is using your cloned voice or a system voice, our support team is happy to check it for you.
