Keeping your business address accurate helps customers find you easily on Google Maps and Google Search. Follow this guide to update, correct, or remove your address in your Google Business Profile.
If you proceed with this action, Google will require you to verify your location. Your page will not be visible until this verification is completed.
Before You Start: Address Requirements
Google requires a complete and verifiable address for businesses that serve customers at a physical location. Make sure your address meets the following guidelines:
Enter a full street address (for example, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, 94043).
Include building, suite, floor, or unit numbers if applicable.
Only add official address details. If your region has unclear addressing, you may add nearby cross-streets or landmarks.
Do not use descriptions like “Across from Central Park” or “Corner of Main St and Broadway Ave.”
If your business does not have a street number or Google cannot verify your address, you can place a pin on the map instead.
If you are a service-area business and do not serve customers at your physical address, you can hide your address and display only your service area.
How to Add or Edit Your Address
Open your Google Business Profile.
Select Edit profile and then Location.
Next to Business location, select Edit (pencil icon).
Enter your complete address.
If Google can’t verify your entry, you’ll see a warning. Re-enter the highlighted sections.
If the system still cannot find your address, select Adjust to place a map pin manually.
Select Save.
Processing Time
Most updates appear within 10 minutes.
Some changes may take up to 30 days if Google reviews them.
Special Situations
If your business operates inside another business (for example, a store inside a mall), you can request this detail to show on your profile.
Some profiles display an automatic location description (near a landmark or nearby business). This cannot be edited.
How to Adjust Your Pin on the Map
If your address has no street number or Google cannot locate it:
Open your Google Business Profile.
Select Edit profile and then Location.
Next to Business location, select Edit.
Select Adjust.
Move the map so the pin is placed exactly on your business location.
Select Done, then Save.
How to Remove Your Address (Service-Area Businesses Only)
Only choose this option if you do not serve customers at your physical location.
Open your Google Business Profile.
Select Edit profile and then Location.
Next to Business location, select Edit.
Turn off Show business address to customers.
Select Save.
If you remove your address, Google will display your service area instead. If you don’t set one, Google assigns a general area automatically. You can update it later.
