What This Is and Why It Matters
A Google review link is a special URL that takes someone directly to your Google Business Profile’s review form. When a past client clicks this link, they don’t have to search for your business or navigate Google — they go straight to leaving a review. This is especially useful for real estate agents who want to ask clients for feedback after a sale or closing.
Before You Begin: Make Sure You Have a Google Business Profile
To use this feature, your business must have:
A Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business)
Your business profile verified on Google
If you haven’t set one up yet, you can create it for free at business.google.com. Reviews can only be left on verified listings. Google Help
Step-by-Step: Get Your Direct Review Link
Make sure that you are signed in to the same Google account on your browser.
Option 1: From Google Search (Easiest)
Open Google Search
On a desktop or mobile browser, search your business name exactly as it appears on your Google Business Profile.
Find Your Business Panel
Your business’s profile should appear in the search results panel.
Click “Write a review” or “Ask for reviews”
This button opens the review prompt.
Copy the URL
When the review window pops up, copy the URL from the browser’s address bar — this is your direct review link.
Option 2: From Your Google Business Profile Dashboard
Sign in to business.google.com
Use the Google account that manages your business listing.Select your business
(Only necessary if you manage multiple locations.)
This will take you to your business profile above. Follow the same steps.
Option 3: Use Google Maps or Place ID (Alternative)
If you don’t see a direct review link in the dashboard:
Search for your business in Google Maps
Open your business listing
Click the Share button
Copy the link from the share popup — this will take users to your business profile where they can hit “Write a review.”
Alternate advanced option
Use the Google Place ID Finder tool and generate a direct review URL using this format:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID
Replace YOUR_PLACE_ID with the ID for your business listing. This also creates a direct review form link.
Tips to Share Your Review Link
Once you have your review link, you can share it many ways to encourage reviews:
✔ In follow-up emails to clients
✔ SMS or text message after closing or service
✔ Thank-you cards or printed materials
✔ Email signature
✔ Social media posts
✔ QR codes on business cards or signage (generate a QR from your link)
Best Practices for Agents
Always follow up soon after a positive client experience when reviews are most fresh.
Keep your message personal and polite (don’t offer incentives — Google’s policies prohibit that).
Explain how much reviews help your business and other home buyers/sellers.
Summary
Getting your Google review link is a simple but powerful way to boost your online reputation and collect more client feedback. The direct review link brings clients straight to your review form — no extra searching or steps required, making it far more convenient for them to leave a review.
